Yellowstone NP, Day 12, Another Rainy Day

This morning dawned cold (mid 40's) and rainy (again). MMG and I dithered most of the morning away, then went to the local IMAX theater to see the film Alaska. It was educational with beautiful cinematography.

Then back to the moho for lunch (again, not a picnic type day!), followed by a drive around the lower half of the Park's grand circle.

The highlight of the drive was the view of the mountains across Yellowstone Lake. Last week the lake was nearly covered by the remains of its usual 3-foot thick winter ice, but today only a large ice island in the middle of the lake remained.

We saw a few Elk and hundreds of Buffaloes, an Osprey and a couple of Eagles, but no photo ops.

Tomorrow is supposed to be better weather-wise and it is our last day here, so we'll get going early and hope to finish with a flourish.

Our plans for the next couple of weeks are to move over to Cody, WY on Friday, then leave there Monday for the two day trip to Grand Junction, CO where we will be leaving the moho in storage until we come back out to get it about the third week in August.

We plan to be in Denver either Thursday or Friday (Suzi -- Mom will call you about exactly when would be better.) to spend the weekend with Suzi and Shaun, then leave Tuesday morning to drive home.

Love to you all.

MMG and DDG
