September 10, 2009 Grand Teton NP and Yellowstone NP

Another beautiful day! We decided to go up to Yellowstone NP today to try to see a Grizzly Bear. Yellowstone and Grand Teton are joined, the north border of GT and the south border of YNP being the same. It is only about a 60 mile drive and the temptation was too great!

We did not see a Grizzly, but it was a nice trip anyway.

Here's a shot of our lunch spot:

And a busy bee who joined us for lunch. He's trying to get the last bit of nectar before winter sets in.

On the way back, we had some luck with the wildlife:

Sandhill Crane.

Sandhill Crane and Young One

Young Bull Elk.

Of course, once we were back in Grand Teton, you-know-who found a you-know-what:

Then, to top it off, just upstream from the White Pelican was this lady:

Moose

More Moose.

Here's a couple of DDG's small scale pictures:

New Thistle.

Old Thistle.

And, of course, the scenery. Here's a little bit of it I meant to send to you yesterday:

More tomorrow!
