September 13 and 14, 2009 Grand Teton NP

Sorry for the delay in getting these into the blog, but we had a basement flood back home and had to spend a lot of time handling it. I should say we spent a lot of time getting other people, neighbors, sons, and professionals to handle it for us. All's well now. Even better, the insurance company called this morning to say they would replace all of the downstairs carpet and pad.

We spent most of the past two days hiking and Moose hunting. The hikes we took included Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point, both reached by hiking around Jenny Lake, and Taggart Lake.

Here are the pictures from the hikes:

From the Grand Teton to Mt. Moran

Late Fall Teton Flower

Looking back on the trail to Inspiration Point to see Mt. Owen,

Unknown Teton Mountain with cloud cap.

Teewinot Mountain top.

MMG and DDG at Hidden Falls, a necessary picture to prove we made it!

Tetons across Taggart Lake.

Teton Squirrel

Another Teton Flower.

Teton forest fire. Naturally started by lightning on August 30, unless it threatens a structure it must die a natural death.

On the drive to and from the hikes:

Tetons across the Snake River.

Photographers taking aim at the Teton Range.

Rare Teton flower growing in the parking lot!

And in its own special place: BULL MOOSE

Our first Bulls of the trip -- and of the last few trips!

Getting eyed by Junior!

And ignored by Big Daddy!

And now we're caught up! Tomorrow, on the road to Glacier NP.

Love to all,

MMG and DDG
