Grand Junction, CO to Ogden, UT

OK, map aficionados! I-70 west to US-6 and 191 northwest to I-15 north to Ogden. As you can see on the map, if we had followed I-70 west far enough we would have connected with I-15, but US 6 and 191 "cuts the corner" and saves many miles. The trade off is that US 6 and 191 goes up and over the mountains instead of around them!

Here are today's pictures of the highlights of what we saw:

Getting started into the mountains.

Trains and trucks and us. Everyone wants to "cut the corner".

Not that the canyons through the mountains are windy or anything, but.....

What we're going through and around.

Getting closer!

Guess we'll just go around this one!

Through the mountains, now headed north on I-15 at Provo, UT.

Don't know what it is about snow capped mountains, but we never tire of seeing them and to have a new one come into view every few minutes is just wonderful to us!

Tomorrow we'll make it the rest of the way to West Yellowstone, MT, where we'll stay for the next 2 weeks while MMG tries to get a picture of every animal in Yellowstone NP! --- and tries NOT to fall off any mountain trail we're hiking!

Stay well!

MMG and DDG
